Some Think Blue is a collective of twentysomethings who feel that what’s out there in terms of publications doesn’t really get it. We were tired of having to trawl through a million humdrum, uninteresting tales in a magazine before stumbling upon something we actually thought was relevant and sincere.
Why couldn’t magazines be smaller, more selective? It was like we were being force-fed culture that was included just because it was ‘new’: we were getting fat on the editorial equivalent of fast-food. We don’t respect that, and we don’t think you do, either.
We don’t want to feel superior and we don’t want to feel like we’re vapid party-heads either. We just wanted a careful collection of great, interesting things to talk about and to show to our friends, and maybe girls and boys that we wanted to impress. Most of all, we wanted a place where everything would incite feelings and reactions. We guess we want to incite. We wanted to make a place where people like you would come to get inspired - and contribute to something that is as international as you are.
Our first child’s been born and we’re smoking cigars. Come join the party.
